Ahh, a classic. So, I would sit brainstorm ideas for donut drawings in my sketchbook and when I came up with this one I was truly disappointed that it had taken so long to realize this tribute to one of my favorite children's books. It seemed so very obvious once I got there. I was so happy with the little self-caricature "James" that I used him as my icon and avatar for various applications and I would modify and update his appearance as needed.

This one was a lot of fun to do. I loved playing with this cut paper style (so many layers). I went for the cheap laughs with this one and just crammed in every French stereotype I could think of.
